Dear WVL Members,
As the 2024/2025 season comes to a close, the Welland Volleyball League Executive Team would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for being part of an incredible and successful year, filled with exciting matches and great moments.
First, a special thank you goes out to our amazing referees (Dorrie, Dylan and Sharon) and scorekeepers. Your dedication each week ensures our league runs smoothly, promotes fairness and respect on the court, and brings a fun and energetic spirit to every division. You are truly the heart of our league, and we are proud and grateful to have you all with us!
To our team captains, we deeply appreciate your leadership and commitment this season. Thank you for organizing your teams, serving as positive ambassadors, and helping to foster a sense of camaraderie within our league.
To all of our players and fans, thank you for your enthusiasm and love for the game. Your participation continues to grow and strengthen our volleyball community, and it has been an absolute pleasure hosting you this season. We hope you’ve enjoyed your time with us as much as we’ve enjoyed having you!
Lastly, I would like to give a huge thank you to our phenomenal Executive Team: Noelle, Francy, Kerry, Kaylee, Sherry, Katie, and Joce. Running a league with 40 teams, over 300 players, across three nights a week, two venues, seven months of play— and an incredible two-day annual tournament—requires tremendous dedication, diligence and teamwork. This team also manages the three months of planning, coordination, and registration leading into each season which is essential to the league existing. Every one of these executives go above and beyond to ensure a positive experience for players of all skill levels and I am very grateful to their efforts. They say it takes a village, and this team is the backbone of our league. Their commitment, talent, and passion for the league and the game of volleyball are what keep the Welland Volleyball League thriving. Please join me in recognizing and celebrating their outstanding contributions—thank you team!!
